First DCUO expansion to be free, out September 6
Lagging behind the film’s release and subsequent hype, DC Universe Online has put a date on its Green Lantern content – and dropped the price tag.
CVG reports the new content pack, called Fight for the Light, will drop on September 6 and is completely free.
The pack was announced back in July, the expansion was originally going to be a premium add-on at $9.99 or local equivalent, but it’s gone free “as a way to thank loyal players”.
This is excellent news for keen players as the expansion adds in an entirely new power set – the Green Lantern’s trademark Light – which all will have access to.
The pack also features new characters and locations, as well as 16 new scenarios including a face off with the Red Lantern Corps.

@1, I really wouldn’t bother.
Curiosity got the better of me and I resubbed just to see what the game is like…
It’s dead. Deader than dead. There’s no one around. It’s worse than Aion or WAR. I’m surprised at just how quickly this game dropped off in numbers. The thing is, it seems to play a lot better than it did at launch.
Such a shame, if you want comic heroo combat and style mmo, definitely go for Champions at this stage.
