Snowblind “drawing as much” inspiration from Lord of the Rings films for War in the North’s scale
Snowblind has said that the scale in Lord of the Rings: War in the North has been inspired by the scale seen in the Peter Jackson films from a few years ago.

Lord of the Rings: War in the North to launch in November
Warner’s confirmed release dates for Lord of the Rings: War in the North which will launch in the US on November 1, Australia November 2, and in Europe on November 4. The Snowblind action-RPG, is the spirtual successor to Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance, according to the firm. We had a chat with Snowblind on the game yesterday. Watch for quotes from 4pm.

Rumour – iPhone 5 mock-ups get pictured, published online
Gizmodo‘s published what it says are mock-ups from a factory in China where the iPhone 5 is being manufactured. The design has a more curved look, similar to the first-gen iPhone, mixed with that of iPhone 4. The fifth-gen iPhone has been rumoured for ages now, with a reveal due to happen sometime in the autumn. Apple has, obviously, said nothing on such an event. Not yet anyways. More at the link.

Rise of Nightmares gets new screens
Sega’s released a couple of new screens for Kinect horror game Rise of Nightmares. Not much else to say other than you can find them on D’Toid. Announced last year at Tokyo Game Show during Microsoft’s keynote, it’ll release on Septemebr 6 in the US and September 9 in Europe for Xbox 360.

House of the Dead: Overkill: Extended Cut gets two PS3-exclusive levels
Sega’s announced that House of the Dead: Overkill: Extended Cut will get two exclusive levels when it releases on PS3 later this year. The first of these levels is called Naked Terror, and sees you play as Varla and Candy – previously NPC characters in the Wii version – as you fend off stripper and biker mutants.
