Quick Quotes: Torchlight MMO “still in the plan”
“That’s obviously still in the plan. But is it the next thing or is it something beyond that? We just don’t know. We have a lot of good ideas for the MMO, we just aren’t committing to any kind of schedule yet. If Torchlight 2 blows up on PC and it’s the biggest thing since sliced bread we’ll probably want to give more attention to that before heading into the MMO world.” – Runic Games CEO Max Schaefer to Eurogamer.

Quick Quotes: Ono on why there won’t be a Street Fighter x Mortal Kombat
“I actually get a lot of requests for Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat on my Twitter feed and elsewhere. I understand why people want it, but it’s easier said than done. Having Chun Li getting her spine ripped out, or Ryu’s head bouncing off the floor… it doesn’t necessarily match.” – Yoshinori Ono speaking to the US PS Blog (via Eurogamer).

Quick quotes: Holiday release period for games “healthy for the industry,” says Pete Hines
“It’s probably healthy for the industry because the industry gets a lot of attention when there’s all these things happening, just like the movie industry gets a lot of buzz when there’s a bunch of really big things at the movies and everyone’s talking about them all. It’s probably not healthy for everyone who has one of those titles, because as you rightly pointed out usually someone gets the short end of the stick. Someone ends up falling short and not doing quite what they expected to do.” – Bethesda VP Pete Hines, speaking to Eurogamer on the best and worst of releasing a game in the holiday period.
Bethesda has two games for the holiday season: RAGE on October 7 and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on November 11.
