Gaikai teams with CDP for Witcher II demo, PC version nearly hits 1 million sales

We’re seeing Battlefield 3 at DICE – content incoming
We’ve just been on a studio tour of DICE in Stockholm, Sweden, and we’re going to get to play a PS3 co-op mission of Battlefield 3 this afternoon. This afternoon we’re also interviewing Lars Gustavsson, DICE’s creative director, and studio head Patrick Bach. We’ve got readers Chris Hockey and Colin Gallacher with us: they won a competition to come on this trip earlier this month. We’ll have some content up for you as soon as we can.

Report – Guild Wars 2 to allow player-made PvP servers
NCSoft will allow player-made PvP servers for Guild Wars 2, according to a report from MMORPG.com. The news comes from an interview with Colin Johanson and Eric Flannum, where they apparently confirmed that players would be able to create and host servers with specific rulesets as well. Developer ArenaNet will also have its own servers, though.

Driver: San Francisco gets movie director trailer ahead of Friday’s release
Ubisoft’s sent out a brand new video of Driver: San Francisco, as the Reflections reboot prepares to launch in the UK this week. The clip featured the movie director mode, something which has become a normal standard feature in most Driver games since the series began. Get the video below the break.
Driver: San Francisco launches in the UK on Friday, with a US release next Tuesday on PS3 and 360. PC version launches on September 30 in the UK.

THQ announces WWE All Stars 3DS for fall release
THQ’s announced this morning that a 3DS version of WWE All Stars is in development, and that it’ll release this fall. The game will come with a “power-packed roster of colorful WWE Legends and prominent current-day WWE Superstars,” including 13 superstars who were included as DLC for the earlier-released PS3 and 360 version. The “gameplay experience and over-the-top energy” of the console releases will “translate well to a handheld format,” according to THQ core EVP Danny Bilson.
It’s currently down for a November 22 release in the US.

Professor Layton and the Last Specter gets trailered
Following confirmation of a US release date yesterday, GiantBomb‘s carrying a new trailer for Professor Layton and the Last Specter. The game, a prequel set before the first trilogy, will release on Nintendo DS on October 17 in America. No date for Europe as yet, though.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Arcade to launch in Japan next month
The Arcade version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will begin rolling out in Japan on September 14, Namco Bandai’s announced in the country this morning. In terms of an international release, nothing has been finalised but it is due for later in the month or beyond. And that’s all she wrote. A PS3 version is coming at some point next year.

Walmart to honour $249 Xbox 360 deal until next week despite error
US retailer Walmart’s said that a price reduction of the 4Gb Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle from last week was a mere error, saying it was “mistakenly labeled as a rollback.” However, until either next Monday or while stock lasts, it will honour the reduction in price. Microsoft insisted that it was not the prologue to an official price-cut announcement, telling Joystiq that Walmart had “made an independent decision to implement this temporary price cut.”

Sega’s Nagoshi planning big pre-TGS announcement tomorrow
Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi is set to give a big announcement at a press conference tomorrow, according to Japanese streaming service Nico Nico. It’s all happening at 3:00pm Japanese local time, which is 7am BST. What the announcement is from Nagoshi, who’s currently working on Binary Domain at Sega, is a mystery. New Yakuza?
