Modern Warfare 3 video details spec ops co-op
Activision has released a new Modern Warfare 3 trailer, and it features spec ops co-op gameplay and introduces an all-new survival mode. The video contains plenty of action, guns and explosions, giving you a proper look at the mode. It also reminds you that the title will get its multiplayer world premiere at the upcoming Call of Duty XP event. Modern Warfare 3 releases on November 8 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Tropico 4 demo now available
Kalypso Media has released a demo of Tropico 4, which includes four tutorial missions and one campaign mission, where players will assume the role of the newly elected El Presidente who must build his island’s economy from a financial backwater to a world class economic superpower. Tropico 4 is set for release at the end of August, and for links to where you can download the demo, hit the page break.

Freddy Krueger character vignette released for Mortal Kombat
NetherRealm has released a character vignette for the final Mortal Kombat DLC character, Freddy Krueger, which is live today on XBL and later this evening for US PSN users. UK gets it tomorrow. The video posted below the break, courtesy of Evil Avatar, presents a look into how Freddy became part Mortal Kombat. Turns out, he’s fighting in order to return to the dream realm from which he came, using his “demonic razor gloves” to take down anyone standing in his way. Nifty. Watch the video.

SWTOR won’t have region or IP blocks, Australia can import
While BioWare has previously stated it “cannot commit to any timeframe” for The Old Republic’s retail availability in territories like Australia and New Zealand, it has said the game isn’t region locked; therefore, if those in Oz would like to import, they can absolutley do so.

Splinter Cell Trilogy releasing on EU PSN tomorrow
Ubisoft’s confirmed on the EU PS Blog that the Splinter Cell Trilogy will release on the European PlayStation Store from tomorrow. The trio – which involves the original, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory – will cost either €9.99/£7.99 separately or €29.99/£23.99 in a bundle. PS Plus users will get a 20 percent discount on SC1 and a ten percent discount for Pandora Tomorrow. The games will also support 3D and trophies. A Blu-ray release will come later down the line.

Dead Island video shows of cooperative play
Deep Silver has released a video for Dead Island, showing how the different protagonists of the game need to work together in order to survive the zombie infested island of Banoi. Co-op players will need to use different skillsets to complement each other in battle in order to survive the hordes of zombies awaiting them around every corner. The co-op mechanic in the game allows for up to four players with drop-in/drop-out mechanics throughout the whole game. The Techland actioner has also officially gone gold, and will in stores on September 6 in North America and September 9 in the rest of the world. Watch the video below, courtesy of Ve3tro.
