Report – Next Resident Evil movie to feature Leon Kennedy, Barry Burton
According to a BD Horror report, the newest Resident Evil movie, subtitled Retribution, will feature Leon Kennedy and Barry Burton. Jill Valentine is also set to return in the movie, but as a recasted role, according to the site. Parts of the film will be shot in Tokyo – as already mentioned this year – and Toronto, Canada this October, with a release next September. Paul W.S. Anderson and Mila Jovovich will also return to direct and star as main character Alice respectively.

Metro: Last Light gets final E3 vid, full demo on August 23
THQ’s released the final part of the three-part gameplay video series of Metro: Last Light’s E3 demo, which sees Artyom and Khan having to intercept a train that has a mysterious prisoner on board. The end of the video promises the full 12 minute gameplay video will come on August 23. Get the final part below the break.

Risen 2: Dark Waters – gamescom teaser video released
Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes have released a gamescome teaser video for Risen 2: Dark Waters. In it, ancient creatures are rising up and you must take a stand against the evil denizens of the deep. The firms also announced today that the official website is finally online with quite a few updates on the game’s world and the unnamed hero starring in it. However, for some reason it won’t let us past the age gate at the moment. There’s no exact date just yet for the game, but it will be released on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

PSA: Sony bringing PSN down for maintenance tomorrow
Just a heads up so you don’t freak out when you can’t log into PSN later tomorrow afternoon: the service will be brought down from 4:05pm on Thursday until 2:00am on Friday, BST to apply firmware 3.70. Capcom: Mega Man “super important to us,” Legends 3 cancellation “a decision that had to be made”
Capcom US VP Christian Svensson has said that the cancelation of Mega Man Legends 3 was a decision that needed to be made, but insisted that the IP is still “super, super important” to the publisher.

GameStop UK selling 3DS for £135 ahead of Friday’s price-cut
GameStop UK is selling Nintendo 3DS on its website for £134.97, drastically less than what other retailers selling it for right now: GAME‘s going for £195 and Amazon is at £170 in the meantime. This comes ahead of the system’s previously-announced price-cut this Friday, with MCV reporting that the expected UK RRP is to be £140.

God of War Origins openings get videoed
Not content with the Team ICO blowout, IGN’s gone live with ten minutes worth of footage from the God of War Origins pack. The pair, which will release as God of War Collection Vol 2 in Europe, will come with remasters of the two PSP titles in Kratos’ adventures: Chains of Olympus and Ghosts of Sparta. ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection gets big video blowout
IGN’s gone up with at least more than 15 minutes worth of footage from the ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection. There’s the first five minutes of ICO, more than ten minutes worth from the opening of Colossus and more. They look utterly stunning, so go watch them after the break. The pack’s out at the end of September for PS3.

DOTA 2 gamescom tourney to be streamed online
IceFrog’s confirmed that the worldwide DOTA 2 tournament at gamescom next week, which will see the game unveiled for the first time, will be streamed online. The news was confirmed on the DOTA forums, with the livestream coming in four languages: English, Russian, Chinese and German. You can get the stream here. The game launches later this year.

Perfect World completes Cryptic buyout
Perfect World has completed its acquisition of Champions Online developer Cryptic Studios. The Chinese company has apparently spent $49.8 million on the buyout after Atari announced earlier this year it was to divest from the studio. Atari says it will use to decrease debits among other things. Perfect World also has a majority stake in Torchlight studio Runic Games from May this year.
