Quick shots: Dishonored gets more honorable in new post-gamescom shots

Bethesda’s released five new shots of Arkane’s Dishonored to celebrate the game getting a brand new website. You can get them below the break. We seen the title behind closed doors at gamescom last week, and can honestly say you should be looking forward to this a lot. Thief meets Half-Life 2 is what we’d say it’d be most like. ChunSoft has confirmed in this week’s Famitsu that the team behind 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors is making a successor for Vita and 3DS. Besides voicing stuff and who’s doing what, nothing else was confirmed, though. ChunSoft is also working on a follow-up to Super Famicom thriller Night of the Kamaitachi​, known as True Night of the Kamaitachi. That’ll release on Vita and PS3, with the former getting exclusive features.

New Xbox 360 Monster Hunter bundle announced for Japan

Microsoft’s announced a new hardware bundle for Xbox 360 in Japan, headlined by Monster Hunter: Frontier Online. The bundle will come with a 250Gb console and codes for MH:FO that will enable free play time and in-game loot. The bundle will set you back ¥29,800.

BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend Vita to share save data with PS3 version

This week’s Famitsu has shown that the Vita version of BlazBlue – now subtitled Continuum Shift Extend – will have cross-platform save support with the PS3 version of the same game, which was announced in the magazine this week alongside a 360 SKU. There’ll also be two new fighters in the game: Ignis and Relius Clover, the latter due in an update in the arcade version of Continuum Shift 2 this fall.

The game’s due to launch on Vita in Japan this winter, which is when Sony has said it’ll release the handheld in the country. Thanks, Andriasang.

Ingham quits CVG, returns to Intent

MCV’s confirmed that CVG editor Tim Ingham has quit the site and will be returning to Intent to edit Music Week. Ingham joined Future from Intent, where he previously worked on MCV’s site, in 2009. He won the best online writer award at the GMAs last year.

Simon Maxwell, group publisher for Future’s games and film portfolio, said that the company is “sorry to lose Tim,” and that CVG’s “UK unique users” are currently “up 38 percent and page views up 67 percent year-on-year.”

Konami to hold Japanese press conference tomorrow

Konami’s confirmed that it’s to hold a special press conference in Japan tomorrow. What’s it about, we have no idea, but the Japanese Twitter for LovePlus has promised an announcement for tomorrow as well. As noted by Andriasang, there are also hardware bundle details for the 3DS version of the Japanese dating game in this week’s Famitsu, as well as reports on games already known, including the Konami-published Little King Story for Vita, Winning Eleven 2012 and the MGS HD Collection.

Deus Ex PC includes code for OnLive edition

The PC retail version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution includes a code for the OnLive version of the game, the company has announced. The code for the game from the cloud service will mean it can be played on the OnLive game system on TVs, as well as nearly any PC and Mac, as well as the upcoming support for iPad and Android tablets.

The Eidos Montreal reboot launched in the US yesterday, with it releasing in Europe and the UK on Friday.

UK: 160 GB PlayStation 3 Slim on sale now for £165

A couple of voucher codes have resulted in Tesco Direct offering 160GB Slim model PlayStation 3 consoles for just £165, according to HotUKDeals.

The retailer’s stocks ran low yesterday, but a new shipment has since brought the deal back into effect.

Sony recently dropped the price of new PS3 consoles to £199, resulting in a reported 65 percent increase in sales.

Activision’s announced overnight that Kanye West is to perform at Call of Duty XP. West, in what will be the rapper’s first performance since the release of his latest album, will close out the show on September 3 in Los Angeles. The event will also see Modern Warfare 3′s multiplayer unveiled for the first time and the full features list of Call of Duty Elite being announced as well.
