UK charts: Beast defeated – Deus Ex takes down Zumba

Tuesday, 30th August 2011 09:24 GMT By Johnny Cullen

It’s happened. It’s actually happened: Deus Ex: Human Revolution has become the new UK number one, overthrowing Zumba Fitness from the top of the pile.

The anticipated release of the Eidos Montreal actioner fell 26,000 units short of the lifetime UK sales of Invisible War in its first two days on sale, but its probable that has since been eclipsed since Sunday and the Bank Holiday yesterday.

In terms of platform breakdown, 360 won that battle with 57 percent of the market share compared to PS3′s 31 percent and PC’s 13 percent, although this doesn’t include digital sales for the latter.

Zumba only falls one spot to two, while Rugby World Cup finishes the top three.

The full top ten for the week ending August 28 is below. Last week’s data is here.

  1. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  2. Zumba Fitness
  3. Rugby World Cup 2011
  4. LEGO: Pirates of the Caribbean

  6. Cars 2
  7. FIFA 11

    And rightly so.

May Zumba be banished to the abyss from whence it came.

    Charts are relative.

    Figures are absolute.

It may have knocked it off first place, but there’s nothing to say that any of these are selling in particularly high figures, or whether these are far apart, or what.

Will never understand this whole Zumba craze either…
