Rumour - Ubisoft working on Project Osborn

An alleged leak has Ubisoft working on a new property codenamed Project Osborn, which has the US under attack by terrorists led by a descendant of George Washington.

Siliconera gives no source for the news, but reports the squad based shooter is expected on HD machines - so PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, probably.

The game's antagonist is said to be 42 year-old Virginia-born John Washington, who can trace his lineage back to the famed US president. A military graduate, Washington lost faith in his nation's leaders after an incident in Afghanistan during which his own base was destroyed by airstrike.

Now leader of the Minutemen and described as a "modern day William Wallace", Washington has embarked on a guerilla crusade to restore America to its former glory, opposed by Osborn, a counter-terrorist group led by a Navy Seal.

Players will complete missions on both sides of the idealogical divide, visiting familiar US locations including the Brooklyn Bridge.

We'll see what we can find out from Ubi.
