Report: 3DS price cut shifts 215,000 units in Japan in one week

Nintendo’s handheld has enjoyed its highest domestic weekly sales since launch following the recent price cut.

Enterbrain has reported, via Japanese specialist-press site Famitsu, that the 3DS enjoyed its second most successful week of sales in Japan – shifting 215,000 units – after the price of the handheld was slashed from ¥25,000 to ¥15,000.

Only during the console’s launch week did it sell more units – 371,326.

The 3DS has now sold over 1.5 million units in its home territory.

Thanks, Andriasang.

I know I bought one for $99.99 with GameStop Coupon for my Wife this past weekend with the price cut. She is enjoying playing her regular DS games on it, have no plans to buy a 3DS title at all though. She will be picking up Emily the Strange this week, but that is a regular DS title.

To be honest the 2 page list of upcoming 3DS titles GameStop gave me, looks incredibly unimpressive!!!
