Details on the weapon manufacturers in Borderlands 2 revealed

In the latest issue of Game Informer, it mentions how gun manufacturers in Borderlands 2 have been revamped a bit, and will now have their own style and personality, and now the magazine’s official site has some more information pertaining to the gun peddlers.

The site has a rather thick list of each one, along with descriptions of each along with what is on offer. Below, you will find a few highlights.

Bandits have started putting together their own weaponry but it will be noticeably “ramshackle,” with glass bottles being used as scopes, screws for sights, and whatnot. The guns will also have larger magazines compared to most manufacturers, but with size comes a price as they will require longer reload times.

There is also the Dahl which carry more modern, realistic guns like you would see in a military shooter game, and there’s also the Hyperion – famous for making Claptrap – whose guns will “feature the same look” as our favorite yellow and white robot.

Vladof weapons will have the highest fire rate in the game along with minigun barrels as attachments on weapons similar to AK47s.

If you head on through here, you can also find out more on Tediore, Torgue, Maliwan, and Jakobs.

2K will be streaming the first look at Borderlands 2 during gamescom next week, and the game is set for launch during the publisher’s FY2013.

Hopefully the alien weapons are back too. Also, Jackobs FTW!

I’ll take anything purple and up.

The best weapon I’ve had was a drum-fed shotgun with fire-shells that shot really tight groupings. That’s far and above my favourite thing in a shooter, shotguns that can actually hit stuff. Medal of Honor got it right, too.

I felt that the soldier class was too powerful in the original, the turret is almost as powerful as an entirely new team8 & although I know that it doesn’t necessarily mean that he’ll win every duel, there’s no question that he’s the best against enemies, don’t ever have to worry about ammo & his regen abilities make him a beast vs large waves of enemies & the fact that he’s the best with 2 of the most used weapons (Assault rifle+Shotgun) is also another factor along with the boosts he gets for it.

I’d like if the weapons you find and assemble were a bit more beefy, as you got a bit of trouble to get them.

@4, the skill trees are such that all the classes are beasts if you max out the right skills. You can make Lilith almost invincible if you focus on her melee, elemental, phase walk and health/shield regen skills. With the right setup Lilith doesn’t even need weapons, phase walk and phase strike will devastate any group of enemies in the game.

Speaking of fav weapons, I have this sweet fire smg with a low rof that you can fire semi auto, I like popping a single critical headshot on each enemy and letting the fire damage finish them off.

I hope they improve the designs for their sights and particularly the irons, a lot of the guns in the original have pretty garbage irons to the point where I just used hip fire most of the time.

My best weapon forever was a drum fed, 8 rounds shotgun that shot ROCKETS! :D

The bad thing is that it was an early lvl 5 weapon and I never managed to find it again :\

It’d be nice if their was a couple of unique guns you could find, something that really stood out. Yeah they had millions of guns, but the differences were minimal & they all looked the same.

Hopefully they’ll spend a little less time fapping over firearms & create a more compelling single player story, cuz on your own Borderlands was dull.
