Sony extends identity protection offer to Australian PSN members

Sony has begun sending identity protection invites to Australian PlayStation Network members, following on from similar schemes announced for the Americas and Europe.

The Australiam arm of the Indentity Theft Protection Program will be handled by CSIdenity, a global ITP firm headquartered in Austin, Texas.

Those who joined the Aussie PSN before PSNGate and are over 18 years have been offered one year’s subscription to key services.

Sony has begun staggering its batch emails after experiencing mail server blacklisting during the PSN outage, so don’t be too concerned if your invite hasn’t arrived yet.

As part of the Welcome Back Program offered in reparation for the mid-April hacking, compromise of personal data, and subsequent extended downtime of the PSN, Sony had promised to provide free identity protection services to most territories.


Dear PlayStation Network user,

We have teamed up with CSIdentity, a leading provider of global identity protection and fraud detection services to bring you peace of mind when using PlayStation Network and related services such as PlayStation Store.

With the unique voucher code contained in this email, visit sony.csidentity.com for more information about CSIdentity’s programme for eligible PSN consumers. To be eligible you must to be 18+ and have had a current PSN account on 20th April 2011. You must also register for the programme within 60 days of this email. We will pay for you to join the programme and so use the following CSIdentity services for a whole year free of charge:-
