Rumour – iPhone 5 mock-ups get pictured, published online

Tuesday, 2nd August 2011 13:41 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Gizmodo‘s published what it says are mock-ups from a factory in China where the iPhone 5 is being manufactured. The design has a more curved look, similar to the first-gen iPhone, mixed with that of iPhone 4. The fifth-gen iPhone has been rumoured for ages now, with a reveal due to happen sometime in the autumn. Apple has, obviously, said nothing on such an event. Not yet anyways. More at the link.

I’m more interested in the device hardware.

Is it going to have Quad Core processor with much better processing power then Vita?

Hehe… If it is going to happen. Vita will have a lot of problems.

@1 I doubt it, the original iPad had the A4 chip and the iPhone 4 followed suit. iPad 2 has dual core a5 processor so I expect the iPhone 5 to have the A5 chip too.

    what do u expect?
    Iphone pricetag: 7-800€
    Vita pricetag: 250€

    other than that, nothing spectacular.
looks like any other smartphone does.

@1 Its not going to be as powerful as Vita, Surely?
    it doesn’t need it.

I don’t know if it is going to be more powerfull than Vita, but Apple can put anything in that thing.

They are more richer than the US government right now. They can put everything inside it.

It will be near identical to the SGSII, happy now everybody? Just several $100 more for no reason other than the traditional Apple tax. The next iPhone will have PSV-like specs.

By the way, if this trend with smartphone apps continue soon consoles are going to recieve iOS, Android Games as ports… for 30$-60$ because graphical capabilities of these smartphones are almost at the level of 360 and PS3.

It’s so sad to look at this industry future trend:

    iPhone/Android Ports —> PS3/360
    PS3/360 ports —> PC

Actually it’s already happening with the consoles, just games are with the indie price for now.

    @11, iPhone 4 have Series5
and Vita will have something close to iPad 2: Series5XT

    iPad 3 will have Series6..

and hillarious thing that Sony Ericsson NOVA A9600 already showed a sample of series6 power…

So basically even Sony’s smartphones are going to have more power in the next year.

    Oh jeez.

If people actually bothered to focus in on the so called ‘mock-up’ they would see the set of fake Iphone 5 pictures for they really are and how generally unworthy these sorts of rumours serve as a legitimate pieces of gaming news.

I am pretty sure for instance that on the back there is no way in hell Apple would allow the terrible spelling errors to have been etched onto the back on a final fit-for-consumer-release unit in the way that is clearly the case on the device on the picture supplied from whatever Beijing back alley it is Gizmodo get their sources from.

Appolle Iphone anyone? Assemeaded in USA? More like another pointless rumour quashed if you ask me.

@12, ST Ericsson, not Sony Ericsson-still both part of the Ericsson branch but ST has nothing directly to do with Sony.

If you read the article you’d know Gizmodo thinks this might be an acurate knock off. These things have a habbit of showing up before the real product launches because the specs and tools come from the real factories.
So no, this isn’t an actual iphone but you can be almost certain the real thing looks exactly the same.
