Starhawk video goes behind-the-scenes of creating a new universe
Harvard Bonin, senior producer at Santa Monica Studio has posted a new behind-the-scenes video for Starhawk over on the PS Blog. It’s also posted below. In it you’ll get “insights into how we created our universe and story, as well as background thoughts on Emmett from the team at LightBox.” You will also see snippets of the game’s animated cut-scenes in the video as well. The game is due on PS3 in 2012.

SSX team listened to fan reaction to Deadly Descents
EA’s Sean Smillie has said the team behind SSX “listened to the fans” and has made the game more colorful and over the top like past iterations in the series, while also apparently dropping the latest version’s Deadly Descents subtitle.

Bastion gets super-lush launch trailer
Warner’s put out the launch trailer for Bastion. The Supergiant RPG will kick off Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade 2011 next week for 1200 MS points. After that will come the PC version that has been on the backburner whilst the 360 version has been made. We’ve played the first half-hour of the game and chatted to Supergiant about the game, but we can’t say much else other than that. Stay tuned to the site next Tuesday for more deeds. Game’s out on Wednesday for 360.

Prototype 2 video discusses the power of tendrils
Radical Entertainment has released a short developer diary on the use of tendrils in Prototype 2, and we’ve posted it below the break for you. In it, the team discusses how when using the tendrils, you can grab bits of the environment such as cars, and pull them in towards an enemy and smash him. Sony World Game Project to feature western titles
Sony’s fully detailed the World Game Project. The event is, as expected, to show off games made within the west. Titles to be shown inFamous 2 and Resistance 3 on the first party front, with Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Shadows of the Damned, despite the latter being made by Grasshopper in Japan. Video footage of other games will also be shown at the event on July 23.

Blizzard to test out Real ID Party in WoW
Blizzard’s said that it’s to test out new feature Real ID Party in World of Warcraft. The feature will enable WoW players to invite Real ID friends of the same faction to a party, regardless of what realm that friend is currently on at the time. That party can then queue up for a five-player dungeon on either normal or Heroic. There’s more details in an FAQ on GamePolitics.
