NCSoft, Carbine Studios tease gamescom announce

Carbine Studios has teased its yet TBA MMO with NCSoft on its website. Word to the wise, this is all but likely to be the publisher's big announcement for gamescom in a couple of weeks.

Executive producer Jeremy Gaffney posted a blog on Carbine's website, dropping small hints of information on what to expect with the title, which has been in the making for four years.

"We've been working on our game in stealth mode for a long while - waiting for the day when we could finally start showing our friends, fans and competitors what all the secrecy was about," he said.

Gaffney continued: "We have a number of ideas we've developed over time about what we think is important in gaming - we think it's about letting players play how they want, when they want, and with whom they want.

"We're gamers that want MORE out of online gaming, and we're all ready for the Next Big MMO. Don't get us wrong - we're not dissing existing games. We can't; like we said, most of us have helped make them."

Carbine has said it will be in Cologne in two-and-a-half weeks time for gamescom, as well as PAX Prime in Seattle later in the month. NCSoft also has a press conference on the press day inside the Koelnmesse. Read into that as you will.

We will be there live.
