Worms: Ultimate Mayhem officially announced

Team 17 has officially announced Worms: Ultimate Mayhem for digital release, after being outed by the Australian Classification Board back in May.

Ultimate Mayhem is a re-vamped, HD reimagining of Worms 3D and Worms 4: Mayhem, which will be released on PSN, Steam, and XBL.

The game includes all the previous games' content as well as more single player missions, extra puzzles, and more customization options.

"It’s been an absolute pleasure getting the chance to revisit two titles that we remember so fondly," said Team 17's John Dennis. "In squeezing the entire content of both Worms 3D and Worms 4: Mayhem into one collector’s edition digital package, we’ve delivered a 'best of the 3D Worms games' experience, complete with 60 single player missions, 12 graphical themes, 38 weapons, full online play for up to four players and literally more ways to customise your worm and game experience than we can count.”

Dennis goes on to say in the press release that along with the graphical improvements, the team improved camera functionality and voice-acted mission intro sequences and added multiplayer maps.

The game's slated for release "later this year."
