Rumor – Resident Evil 6 to be revealed at TGS
If an image taken during Comic-Con is legitimate, it looks as though Resident Evil 6 will be revealed at the Tokyo Game Show on September 15.

According to the person who took the picture, which was posted on the HellDecent forums, he saw the image on the screen while attending a closed door press conference at San Diego Comic-Con
No pictures were allowed at the meeting, said the poster, but he took one anyway, apparently.
The image, as you will see through the link, shows a logo and the date “15.09.2011.”
During E3, a Capcom representative hinted to Rely on Horror the series would be going back to its horror roots with the next installment.
Tokyo Game Show runs from September 15 through September 18, so until then, keep this tucked away in rumorville.
Thanks, Gematsu.

Cant say i have much hope for this after capcom’s pitiful output this gen.
The only games i’ve even bought from them this gen (RE5 and DMC4) i traded away cos of how disappointed i was with them. Plus, recently they have been worse than activision in alot of their recent practices; the MML3 cancellation is some of the worst PR handling i think i’ve ever seen from a publisher.
PS: resi is one series that badly needs a reboot NOT dmc -__-

hopefully they will keep the camera from RE4 and RE5 and make it single player only and then it will be scary

Yeah…I thought RE5 was cool though, it wasn’t much of a Resident Evil title besides the characters but it was still quite a good game…so if they keep the game play mechanics from that and make it a lot more of a horror setting it should be pretty sick…

Resient Evil 4-5 were mediocre games except for the controls and camera.
Resident Evil 4 at least had great start (village) and finish (suburbs). Hated castle level. It was a boring mess full of cheap puzzles and cheap consolised action.
Resident Evil 5 were just pretty graphics, with good Re4 controls + Stupid Sheeva AI and everything else was a mediocre survival action title and RE4 rip off in terms of exploration and puzzles.
I hope in Resident Evil 6 they will take lessons from 4,5 games and make it like 1-2 or 3rd at least.
It must be heavy on survival and horror. Setting must be based in Raccoon city somewhere in USA or somewhere in Japan/Tokyo.
These days scary art style do not work anymore so they must improve sound effects.
Because after really scary games like Amnesia:The Dark Descent… Only sound makes a really good horror game this generation.
also, i hope for a deep exploration this time around and deep lore about the setting, characters and the system. I loved to read stuff in previous Resident evil titles and loved it’s speculation and conspiracy theories behind the virus or patients.

^ Pre-drawn backgrounds, fixed camera LOL. Infact a modern day HD ‘original’ Resi would be a pre-order for me
I share your fears on the FPS possibility, considering the success of COD and all, they might ‘think’ there on to a winner. That would be horrible.

If they are going to make FPS… fuck this shit.
Too much FPS games already and i admit that we don’t see a lot of FPS horror games, but i’m fine with my Amnesia:the Dark Descent that is in first Person (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. maybe)
but Resident Evil was always a Third person survival action.

I hope it’s Japanese and I hope it’s a mixture between RE4 and RE2.

@4: “It was a boring mess full of cheap puzzles and cheap consolised action.” Cheap consolised action in a franchise that was mainly released on consoles? How dare they! The more you talk, the less you make sense. So talk less. There no such thing as “consolised”.
“Because after really scary games like Amnesia:The Dark Descent… Only sound makes a really good horror game this generation.”
Sound was one of many reasons why Amnesia was as scary as it is. But i don’t expect you to understand.
“I loved to read stuff in previous Resident evil titles and loved it’s speculation and conspiracy theories behind the virus or patients.”
lol.

i really enjoyed Resident Evil 4 thought it was fantastic but i understand the frustration of those who wanted a sequel with a similar style to the original.
i hope 6 offers something the majority will be pleased with….and no multiplayer. versus mode in 5 was utter shit.

@10, “Cheap consolised action in a franchise that was mainly released on consoles”
and ported to PC… Well, du~u~uh.
“There no such thing as “consolised”.”
there is, you just don’t know nothing about what makes a difference between consolised and PC shooters. Because your knowledge here (and in everything else) is at the level of your russian language.
hahaha. I laughed my ass off. Can’t forget that epic sentence full of mistakes.
“Sound was one of many reasons why Amnesia was as scary as it is”
Captain Obvious. I said exactly about that.
@daytripper, “i hope 6 offers something the majority will be pleased with….and no multiplayer. versus mode in 5 was utter shit.”
Yes. Yes and yes… but i’m sure they will include multiplayer. It’s CAPCOM. This generation they like to dissapoint everyone.

Well playing Devils Advocate at least Capcom tried something new in the horror genre, by setting it in bright sunshine as opposed to dark & dingy.
It’s a pity in their effort to clone a “western” shooter they forgot the main reason why so many horror stories are at night. For that heightened sense of helplessness. I mean chris looked like he could tear the arms off a gorilla!
Less firepower, a more oppresive setting & a more average joe looking lead & resi 6 will do fine.

Shooting and running at the same time would be a nice improvement. What ever happens i sure like that MT Framework engine that they use, games look sharp and beautiful while it’s not demanding on the hardware requirements and I think they ‘ll use MT Framework 2.1 maybe even 2.2 since the game probably wont come till 2013.

I have been bashing the series a lot lately with how terrible 5 was and how fucking awful operation racoon city looks but…
I know for a fact resident evil 6 can make this series great again. Damn it all I have seen is the damn logo and allready I am nearly pissing myself in excitement to see what it is like. Can’t wait. I’m shocked at how downhill capcom have gone recently but damn resident evil is one of my favourite franchises of all time and this game just has to be good.. it’s NEEDS to be good. Hopefully they were not kidding about going back to the roots and listening to the fans.
Cannot wait to hear more. I still have faith capcom.. PLEASE don’t let me and so many others down.
@14 Shooting and running would be nice? Go play operation racoon city when it comes out then.. Hopefully they won’t do it for 6.

@12:
“and ported to PC… Well, du~u~uh.”
So it was ported, but it started on Consoles. So it was PClised.
“there is, you just don’t know nothing about what makes a difference between consolised and PC shooters. Because your knowledge here (and in everything else) is at the level of your russian language.
hahaha. I laughed my ass off. Can’t forget that epic sentence full of mistakes.”
Shooters?
Are you stupid? Since when are Resident Evil Games Shooters? Oh boy, just keep digging. You barely see the sun now, don’t you? And please, go and on and keep thinking there is a “real” way to write russian via latin letters. Urod.

“Since when are Resident Evil Games Shooters?”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil_4
Genre(s) Third-person shooter, survival horror
If you can’t even figure out a genre in this game than you probably need to see a doctor.

@4 I’m so sick and tired of having this same debate, but I feel compelled to comment anyway. Resident Evil 4 is not mediocre, it is one of the finest games ever created. Ok so you, and other Resi fan-boys didn’t like it, but does that mean it is mediocre? Of course it doesn’t. I wasn’t a fan of Taxi Driver, but that movie is considered to be one of the most compelling films of all time. You’re allowed to not like something that has a general consensus to be great, but don’t start preaching to people that it isn’t what it’s made out to be. Res 4 is a masterpiece.
