Far Cry 3 alternate E3 2011 demo video released

I watched 2-3 times first demo I never notice that zip line

I miss Crytek doing it.

Looks great though, but i said the same thing about Far Cry 2 which in the end sucked ASS!

Far Cry 2 really should of been amazing but i just couldnt get into it… rust on your gun after evey fucking gun fight……. Really?

Wonder what you can do with the XP you earn.

Anyway, this looks like a fantastic game. Seems like Ubisoft really understood what Far Cry is about: Possibilities. But the gameplay and the possibilities look way more fleshed out than the stuff we’ve seen in the previous games or Crysis 1 and 2.

I have some really high hopes for this one.

Idk…FarCry 2 was sick, I’m actually kind of pissed I traded it in when I was half way through the game, might buy it back again on the cheap…I think the enemies were a little to perceptive, it wasn’t as bad once I bought the stealth suit though…just skulking around in the beautiful looking environments that FarCry 2 had was awesome…

This footage seems alittle less impressive than what they shown at E3, and i think that was PC. Could this be 360 footage?

@8, this is 360 footage and E3 version is also 360 footage.

@9, E3 was PC footage using a 360 gamepad, second time you’ve made this mistake, you did the same about Crysis 2, as somebody who keeps bitching about the quality of console games, you seem to have some trouble spotting the differences yourself.

Far Cry 2 was an acquired taste but a richly rewarding experience for those of us for whom the gameplay “clicked”. Let’s hope FC3 doesn’t stray too far from what FC2 got right (and let’s hope it has nothing to do with the spectacularly bland FC1, which was not a remarkable game by any standards).

@10, too low quality for the PC footage. I’m not sure that this was PC. It can be a 360 dev kit… because PC can do much better then what i saw on E3.

Update: I watched that E3 demonstration again. Too crappy for PC and trees pop ups is not happening with good PC rig. If it was PC demo then probably with 360 dev kit.

@13, you are absolutely wrong because Far Cry 1 was absolutely fantastic in every aspect of it from graphics, technology, to AI and gameplay.
Far Cry 2 on the other hand was boring shit with nice setting and with never ending driving sequences and the same shitty spawning camps full of bots, with stupid story in which your character doesn’t even had a vaccine against malaria.

Far Cry 1 made the company like Crytek that exists today and Far Cry had a lot of great reviews and awards so shut up.

Far Cry went from excellent in the first few missions, went downhill a bit when the mutants showed up, plummeted off a cliff near the middle, climbed back up in the last third or so then shot itself in the face with a rocket launcher at the end.

As one guy said about Far Cry 2:

“Far Cry 2 provided a unique experience that I hope this game (FAR CRY 3) also provides. Not many games allow you to clear out an outpost, walk about 5 steps, and turn around to find it completely full of new enemies.” (c)

@16 Well kinda is unique because its FPS open world with touch of realism but AI was game breaker.

i enjoyed the original far cry and far cry 2 as well. 2 didn´t “suck ass”. it was a good game. it had some flaws but was still very enjoyable. i loved the half lifeish beach buggy and some of the gameplay options (tactical fire) were just awesome. i agree about ai and that the game would have needed some more love here and there for the details, story etc. but overall it was a good game and not a bad one. it didn´t suck. not at all. that said i am really looking forward to fc3. if they improved on what was already there this could become an awesome awesome game. i like this footage. it´s obviously on console and it´s looking good. everyone whos complaining about graphics when a game looks like this needs to grow up imho. seriously.
