Report – Gears of War 3 build stored on unsecured server
Reports suggest a preview build of Gears of War 3 may have been hosted on an unsecured server, possibly leading to its leak to torrent sites.

According to Kotaku, a Gears of War 3 build hosted by Codify was not password protected, and was accessible via search engine.
The unsecured file was noticed by a French developer, although it has since been removed.
It’s not uncommon for external companies to host preview build files for media access, as with the similarly-leaked Deus Ex: Human Revolution build. Although the previews are only playable on debug consoles, they’re usually better protected than Gears of War 3 was, apparently.
Microsoft is investigating the leak , which may be unrelated to this incident.
Gears of War 3 is due exclusively on Xbox 360 in September.
