Team Ninja producer says Ninja Gaiden 3 isn't dumbed down to please newcomers

Team Ninja isn't planning to offer a toned down gameplay experience to those who are expecting Ninja Gaiden 3 to be challenging.

This was confirmed by Team Ninja producer Yosuke Hayashi during an interview with Edge, who said NG3 will be a hard game for "the people who want it."

He assured that, although Ninja Gaiden 3 is being made in such a way that it can be enjoyed by more than the series' hardcore fans, it doesn't necessarily mean that the difficulty has been dialed down.

"Ninja Gaiden fans want a challenge, and we want to offer them a game that is challenging," said Hayashi. "But we also don't want that to be a barrier to people who haven't played these games, who haven't played this franchise.

"It's not about the game being too easy or too hard, it just seems like [new players] have a different skillset. So we want to offer a game to both kinds of players. We're not trying to nerf the game."

Hayashi assured that fans of the series won't be let down, and if it's a challenging game that they desire, a challenging game they will get.

"We are definitely going to have a hard game for the people who want it," he said.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is due out on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U in 2012.
