World of Fourcraft turns Foursquare into real-world Risk.

There have been some intriguing alternate reality games over the years, but this one might take the cake. A hack of the popular Foursquare smartphone app just turned New York City into a game of Risk.

Foursquare users in New York City can sign in and declare their allegiance to a specific neighborhood. Then they check in when visiting other neighborhoods to try to take control of that territory away from its own population.

Right now the game is basically just a check-in race between the neighborhoods of New York, but its creators are said to have plans to make it into even more than that. Though what those plans are, we currently don't know.
