Rising Star’s announced that Swery cult thriller Deadly Premonition is coming to Games on Demand for 360 on July 5. That’s next week for those who can’t keep count. The game got absolutely mixed reviews when it launched last year: IGN gave it a two, yet D’Toid gave it a ten. That wait for Swery’s next game just probably got a whole lot shorter.

EDF: Insect Armageddon slightly delayed in UK
Namco Bandai’s confirmed that Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon has been given a slight delay in the UK. Namco Bandai UK PR boss Lee Kirton tweeted earlier the game would be out on July 22, not July 15 as intended. “Apologies to all UK EDF fans of the slightly late launch in July,” he said. “Trust me that it’s a great fun game for great price. And co-op! 22nd July.”
Kirton has said to EG it’ll cost around £24, adding that fans should pre-order now to avoid disappointment due to it not having a “major ship” in the UK. You can pre-order it now at GAME, Amazon and ShopTo, to name a few.

Quick quotes: BioWare admits Final Fantasy inspiration with Mass Effect
“Yeah, you know we actually reference a lot from Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. We used a lot of their GUIs and the way they did their ship – that was kind of like in some of the early designs for the Normandy. Our attack helicopters are loosely based off that movie. There’s some great stuff, especially their glowing GUI screens; we used those a lot. I keep a folder of that stuff and I still actually tell the guys ‘just go back and look at that. Change it like that!’” – Mass Effect 3 art director Derek Watts, speaking to X360W, on the inspiration CG movie The Spirits Within has given to the threequel.
