Hitman: Absolution’s first trailer hitting next Wednesday
Square Enix has just announced it’s to show the first trailer of Hitman: Absolution from next Wednesday evening BST. The trailer will premiere at 10:47am PST (6:47pm BST) at the publisher’s booth at the Los Angeles Convention Center during E3. Hitman: Absolution launches in 2012 for PS3, 360 and PC.

DiRT 3 gets Colin McRae Vision DLC pack
Codemasters has announced the Colin McRae Vision DLC pack for DiRT 3, which is available now. The pack, based on the late, great WRC champion on which the series was formerly named from, includes a Ford Escort MkII and five liveries. The pack is available on Xbox Live Marketplace for 160 MS points or £1.19 for when PS Store returns, with all proceeds being donated to the Colin McRae Vision Charity. The pack is the first of a “series of weekly downloadable content” for the racer.

StreetPass Day set for June 25 by Nintendo
Nintendo has set aside the date of June 25, so that 3DS users nationwide can plan in-person meetups and exchange content together. The firm has named it StreetPass Day.

CVG gets relaunch, colour change, becomes “first stop for 24/7 global gaming news”
Following the reimagining of Edge’s brand earlier today, Future’s relaunched CVG into a blog-style design with a red header. You can take a look for yourself here. Editor Tim Ingham’s said the design is a step in creating “the best gaming news site in the world, built around our core offerings of news, media, comment and community all served up with a healthy dose of cheeky, irreverent humour.”
The site is now apparently updated 24 hours per day, including news from Australia. New features include a widescreen media player and a “Most Popular box”.

Edge launches “comprehensive revitalisation” of both mag and site
Future’s relaunched the Edge brand with its “deepest makeover” ever, redesigning both magazine and website. You can take a look at the new site here, the object of which, according to the press release, is “to better serve the games development and publishing community along with high end gamers”. The relaunch issue of the magazine is its thickest ever at 212 pages, and will go on sale on Thursday June 9 with an unnamed E3 exclusive.

Star Wars Kinect gets short live-action E3 teaser
Microsoft’s released a brief live-action teaser for Star Wars Kinect, featuring a curious R2-D2 examining the camera before freaking out after it nods back at him. And that’s it. No, really, that is it. Expect the Terminal Reality game, first announced last year, to be part of Microsoft’s E3 presser on Monday. Watch it below

Microsoft talks “entertainment” future of Xbox, drops E3 hints
We’re all for swooping in to save the day at the last second, by this is getting ridiculous. After a strong 2010, Microsoft’s been eerily silent about what’s next for its old-but-not-over-the-hill box. Or at least, that’s been the case as far as games go. But the whole “videogame console” thing is only half the battle, and Microsoft’s now got a much larger target in its sights: “entertainment.”
