Future US, IGN hit with lay-offs
It’s being reported that both Future’s US arm and IGN have been hit with lay-offs. At least five people have been let go from Future due to the company reorganising its games and technology groups, according to Folio. At IGN, least four staffers there have been let go, according to Gama, with UGO.com also affected. 1UP.com, however, has not.

Xenoblade dev Monolithsoft making Wii U game
Xenoblade developer Monolithsoft is making a Wii U title, according to job listings posted by the developer. It’s well known it’s working on a secret project, according to Andriasang, but this is the first time a platform has specified for it. There’s more details on it at the link.
Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii is due later this year for Wii in Europe.

PSA: Ocarina of Time Australian street date broken
Australians, the wait is over – somewhat earlier than expected. Vooks has received a receipt proving customers have been able to talk The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time out of EB Games Australia staff.
Kotaku got in touch with the retailer and was advised both that the game would be available on release day – June 30 – and that staff would probably hand it over now if asked. Some stores have told customers the game is not yet in stock.
