Bethesda will support Wii U if it’s powerful enough

Thursday, 30th June 2011 19:28 GMT By Andrew Groen

Bethesda Vice President Pete Hines spoke in an interview today about the possibility of bringing Bethesda’s big upcoming games to the newly announced Nintendo console.

Speaking with MCV, Hines said that Bethesda is always looking to make their games available to as many gamers as possible, but clarified that they wont compromise their style of games just to get the game on a new system.

“So to whatever extent new consoles fit with the kind of games we are making and support them technologically, we would certainly [try to release them for those systems.]

“The Wii wasn’t even an option – we would have to make wholesale changes to the games we were making on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC to make them work on Wii,” Hines continued.

That said, Hines was sure to declare that he doesn’t know whether or not Wii U fits the bill and left room open for speculation.

“I honestly know nothing about the tech specs of the new platforms and whether or not they are a good fit for what we are making with say Rage and Skyrim and Prey 2.”

“If they are a good fit for the kind of games we are making then absolutely, we would look to put them out for those. But beyond that I can’t get into specifics.”

Don’t even bother because hardly anyone (if anyone at all) will use the WiiU as their hardcore first choice gaming console…most people will already have either a PC, 360 or PS3 to buy those games on…who is going to buy it for the WiiU instead months after the their initial releases (besides Prey 2)

I honestly am afraid for Nintendo that they are gonna do something that they will regret eventually. It all remains to be seen.
