Mojang: Scrolls to follow Minecraft development route

Wednesday, 29th June 2011 13:57 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Mojang has confirmed that its next game, Scrolls, will go along a similar development path that Minecraft took when it first released.

“With our new game, Scrolls, we’ll follow the same formula as Minecraft,” Daniel Kaplan told attendees that at GameLab in Barcelona, as reported by Gamasutra.

“That means we’ll release the game very early,” according to Kaplan, at a bare minimum playable state, like Minecraft.

Kaplan also dropped a couple of nuggets on the XBLA version of Minecraft, confirming that the UI will get a “complete overhaul, and make sure it works on a 360 controller.”

GREAT! I Mojang could be big, seeing from now the big Minecraft 360 thing going on.

The only problem with the Xbox version is you cant do updates as easily….so it would have to be a full fledged patch that they need to do in advance.

I´m quite thrilled to finally see this game. I can´t remember any real successful card-videogame, but Minecraft was the first of those blocky 3d open world games with huge success too. We´ll see :P
