Dynasty Warriors 7 Xtreme Legends confirmed

Tecmo Koei has announced that Dynasty Warriors 7 will continue the franchise's trend and receive an Xtreme Legends expansion.

According to KOEI Warriors, the game was announced in this week's Famitsu, and will release on PlayStation 3 in Japan in September.

Three new characters will appear, including Guo Jia, who won a fan poll for the next character to be included in the series. The other two characters are yet to be revealed. Go you Pang De.

New weapons will be added, as will Legend and Challenge Modes. Features from the PSP version of the game, Dynasty Warriors 7 Special, will also feature, including the ability to play as any unlocked character in the game's main story mode.

There's been no word on release outside Japan, and hence, none on an Xbox 360 version, as the game wasn't released on the latter platform in its home territory. Don't hold your breath; Koei has indicated it has no intention to bring Dynasty Warriors 7 Empires or Samurai Warriors 3 Empires or X in the West. Booo.
