Rumor of PS3 Fatal Frame in the works dashed to bits

Apparently, Fatal Frame is not heading to PS3 after all according to Koei Tecmo. "There is no truth to this," a spokesperson for the publisher told Eurogamer. "Looking at the titles on that list it looks pretty out of date." This makes us a very sad panda.

Original: The merest shred of evidence suggests a new Fatal Frame game for the PlayStation 3 is on the way. Be still, my beating heart.

According to The Silent Chief, Chinese gaming site TGBus.com listed Fatal Frame in its upcoming PS3 titles list.

Series producer Keisuke Kikuchi reportedly told Famitsu earlier this year that his team were working on a new game in the series.

Fatal Frame, also known as Project Zero, is a survival horror series of four titles, which involves taking photographs and shrieking in terror at Japan's terrifying traditional ghosties. The most recent entry was developed by Grasshopper Manufacture for the Wii, and has not seen release outside Japan. A remake of the PS2-era Fatal Frame 2 for Wii was expected to surface this year, but has gone silent.
