Future US, IGN hit with lay-offs

It’s being reported that both Future’s US arm and IGN have been hit with lay-offs. At least five people have been let go from Future due to the company reorganising its games and technology groups, according to Folio. At IGN, least four staffers there have been let go, according to Gama, with UGO.com also affected. 1UP.com, however, has not.

All the best to those affected.

These chumps have been paid before to do reviews that make games look good..

Use to enjoy this site years and years ago before I noticed they were full of shit and made terrible articles and very, very bad reviews.

IGN’s articles aren’t top notch, and their reviews are often inferior and clumsy. I don’t rate them much, and their opinion even less.

@KAP: You continue going to a site to watch content delivered by people you want to see fired. Gamespot’s just another site, now. Used to be something better, before the various (assumed) negative influences were brought in to play.

@SplatterHouse

Isnt that allowed?

I go to sites for bordem mostly, nah but seriously i originally go to those sites for info and the odd video feature but when its clearly BS, i call them out on it, and very rearly go back.

I agree with what you mentioned about IGN, i just feel if you aint doing your job right, its time to visit the JSA.

And that goes to the people that run the country too.

What the hell is wrong with you people…especially you @KAP – don’t be an a**. You may not like a site, fine that’s your perogative. However, that doesn’t mean you should be excited when someone loses their job. What if you lost your job, would you want us to be all excited?

Agreed. My company folded last year leaving tonnes of my friends and acquaintances up shit creek and without jobs, and as one of the last survivors, I can tell ye it’s pure hell. I for one hope all of those IGN staffers find work somewhere and that this tragedy doesn’t affect them and their family too badly.

+1 having been made redundant twice In my life and narrowly avoided it again recently, I can tell you if this is the kind of thing you take pleasure in, you need your head read. Hope Keza isn’t reading this, and hope she survives it regardless.

Some of you need to get your priorities straight.

I’m sure Keza’ll be fine. I think internally before this kind of thing happens they shut down the hiring process, especially considering how close this is to Keza’s hiring. But yeah, fingers crossed for Keza.
