Valve: Portal 2 has sold 3 million copies since launch
During the Games For Change event going on New York City today, Valve’s Gabe Newell mentioned that Portal 2 has sold 3 million copies since April 18.

Newell didn’t mention any platform specifics, as it was, according to Joystiq, a comment made in more of a passing manner, but it’s likely he was implying the total unit sales on all playforms.
Otherwise, that would be an amazing feat, indeed.
Joystiq also noted the first Portal moved 4 million units by the time Portal 2 launched, and that figure does not take Steam sales into consideration.

@2 It’ll be shown at Gamescom next month, or was it in August. This summer anyhow.

taking their time arent they? This better be some damn good DLC, not just rearranged already existing game assets forming new puzzles.

It is absolutely BRILLIANT. Totally deserves its 95 metacritic, some good DLC is highly appreciated!
I was kind of skeptical at the beginning (some sort of puzzle game?!), ends up it blew my mind!

Its ok, Valve, you know that HL3 would add a 1 in front of the 3, don’t ya? Just take your time, we can wait. But it better be breathtaking when you release the beast, Gabe!

It has no replay value in single player. For that reason, the review scores were too high.

^ I have to agree. Valve are taking their sweet time with DLC making it a throw away game. I’d lower its score for that reason.
