Bribing people isn’t going to magically reinvent this stale franchise, Sony :)

Guerrilla Games have confirmed that there’ll be no more DLC for KZ3′s Operations mode. I no longer want this game!

While Microsoft promotes Gears Of War 3 in the US where you can play the demos in Wallmart

Sony’s Super Genius PR team trying a “bribe” effect to sell it’s stale franchise in which… No one cares anymore.

Whats the point? They have a fucking Uncharted 3 this year and there is almost no promotion on it. There is twisted Metal and other stuff…

i don´t think this is a good promotion idea. free single player and multiplayer dlc would be much better.

@4, Your opinion of the franchise doesn’t match that of the 2million+ who bought the games. You would make for an awful journalist.

@6, 2 million? Where? Show me 2 million number with statistics please.

    Even crappy vgchartz show: http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/33543/killzone-3/

1.6 million units on VGCrapChartz. 1.6 million units for the first party blockbuster title that is FPS (the most popular genre)? Give me a break. Even niche Heavy Rain sold for 2+ million units being in a very niche genre.

You said franchise, you didn’t specify a specific title. I would guess that the entire series has sold close to 4 mil but I just said 2mil+ to be on the safe side. I don’t even know how a franchise with 3 main games & one spin off can be stale when you have franchises like Mario who has over 100 games, many of them with almost no differences.

If we are going to speak for the franchise, then 2 or 4 million for the three games is absolutely horrible (because it’s a first party title + blockbuster and first person shooter), when one game like Gears Of War 2 sells for 5 +/- million units or Halo for 8 million.

Franchise is stale. It’s time to move on and forget that abomination. Killzone 3 was their last effort to prove that it can be a great game and people will care… in the end i see bribe promotions and 17 gbp on Amazon after 4 months of release.

Not sure if you have played the multi et but its actually pretty damn good imo.

Yeah pity about that as its a good mode.
WZ is good to but you need to be in a clan really for it to work.

What… people still care about this game?

The first was a bland game with nothing new or exciting.

The second was an over hyped ploy to try and show sony had a big fps franchise on it’s hands. Again, it was bland and disappointing.

The third is a short game which does little to prove the series worth.

Seriously, I used to love everything about sony franchises back in the ps2 era with loads of amazing series such as Ratchet, Jak, Mgs but what the ps3 has offered is terrible. Resistence is mediocre at best, another example of sony over hyping their franchises. The majority of ones that are decent have allready made it big on the ps2. Mgs 4, Ratchet 4, God of War. Most of the new stuff isn’t good.

Uncharted is a fucking master piece series and I truly can’t wait for the third.

Exactly. Every FPS that is living in the shadow of COD needs to offer more to keep their respective communities playing. Splitting the base from day one (retro pack) was very silly indeed. All DLC for this game should be free if they want the franchise to prosper in the future. As it stands PS plus users who got steel and rain for free will see it expire fairly shortly. Absurd!

The once almighty Halo is facing the same issue – I’ve got all the maps, though can’t get a good connection game to the few people who have them. These devs need to think about the future of their games if they want to survive the COD monopoly.
