Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta to begin in January

Ubisoft’s announced the open beta for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will begin next January, with the publisher confirming more details to VG247 this morning

The news was made via the game’s official Twitter. It said in a tweet:

We know you have been asking about the beta. We’re excited to announce that the MP beta will be launching in January 2012!

Ubisoft’s confirmed to VG247 this morning that the taster is still indeed 360 exclusive, and that those who still have their copy of Splinter Cell: Conviction will still get in. In fact, Conviction owners will get “early exclusive access.”

However, the company will be announcing “other ways” to get into the beta “soon.”

An open beta for Future Soldier was confirmed as far back to the actual announcement of the game, confirming that it would offer access with copies of Splinter Cell: Conviction, which has been available since last April.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier launches in March 2012 for PS3, 360 and PC.

Lies! I won’t believe this game is anything but vapourware until it’s actually in my hands!

@3 oh come on dude…the delay was mostly due to the reaction last e3 and integrating Kinect support…its way too early to even consider it vaporware since it got announced only a little over a year ago…

Even though I’m more of a Rainbow Six fan, Ghost Recon is a legit franchise and if they do multi right it will be tight…prob have to get rid of the cloaking, shoulder mounted rockets and drones…or at least give the option/ability to turn it off…or just put a classic mode in there like SOCOM 4 did…

I’ve also heard from one of my buddies that you will get a Signature Edition if you pre-order before a certain date I guess, according to their FB page…

It was announced almost two and a half years ago. Check the article.

@5 Saying its being worked on in a financial statement for investors is not “announcing” the game, technically they have probably been conceptualizing about the game since GRAW 2 was released in 2007, but that doesn’t mean it was “announced” back then…it was “announced” as Ghost Recon: Future Soldier in February 2010…as you can clearly see from the link that is contained in the text of the article that says “Actual announcement”…so until its actually “announced” it is not “announced” because that means FarCry 3 was announced over a year ago when they had said they were working on two additions to their core franchises not including Assassin’s Creed and Ghost Recon…

But even so, if you consider it announced in 2009 that’s only two years ago that’s nothing compared to things like LA Noire (announced 2004 – released 2011), STALKER (announced 2001 – released 2007) and Duke Nukem (announced 1997 – released 2011)
