Free release of The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords is the original GBA version

Nintendo announced last week a free release of The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords was heading to DSiWare, and it is the original Four Swords multiplayer game released on GameBoy Advance.

Speaking with Joystiq, a Nintendo representative said the game, which is playable on both DSi XL and 3DS, is not the same game as the GameCube's Four Swords Adventures.

Instead, it is the GBA multiplayer game which was included with A Link to the Past back in the before time, the long-long ago.

There's no word yet on whether the graphics have been updated for current systems or not.

Announced during E3, the free download will be made available in September.
