Quick quotes: Sony’s reaction to use of PS3 footage in Wii U reveal
“The only thing I’ve got to say is that mimicry is the highest form of flattery”: SCEE president Andrew House tells GamesIndustry how it felt to have PS3 and 360 game footage used in Nintendo’s Wii U press conference in LA last week.

It’s only the same thing as Sony doing pretty much its entire PS3 E3 reveal in CG and claiming it was realtime footage, right?

“The only thing I’ve got to say is that mimicry is the highest form of flattery”,
Oh the irony, sitting here looking at my move controller.
Look i know it was a bad move on nintendo part, even it hurt them more than they realize, due that now we believe the wii U has the same power as PS3 and 360, which may or may not be the case, but if you had done the same thing, please let it pass and dont say anything, at least in not that context.

#1 No, not really. WiiU footage was gameplay, just from another platform. It would be the same thing if Sony would show PS3-trailers with 360 footage when it got announced.
If they’re talking of mimicry, then Nintendo should be flattered by PS Move. Although it was a solid step forwards compared to the Wii’s controls.
Nothing wrong with mimicry, new ideas are most likely not perfect at first try. So the pioneers make the ideas, then other people perfect it.

I think Ninty made a sham out of this whole console reveal, in pretty much every way.
And i can see WiiU bombing big time

@6 Crysis from 2007 achived that rate of graphics and that was PC 2 years later, SONY are corporate liers, but I do miss lines like “Power of the playstation”. All playstation adverts are boring nowadays.

Reggie about PS Move:
“Reggie Fils-Aime: So, if imitation is the most sincere form of flattery then I am blushing I’m so flattered. “

Wait we have forgotten something called ps eye and another gimmick project under development for the ps2 which was introduced back at ps2 era,way before the Wii controller. That gimmick project is eventually for ps3.Move,so just because they didn’t actually release it then and Nintendo beat them to it development wise first, means they mimicked them?WOW

^ Yep, its pretty funny how people seem to want to forget THIS and THIS. And they’ll no doubt forget the PSP remote play feature when Sony begins to push Wii U like features using VITA.
But whatever. Theres no doubt Nintendo did push Sony to put that concept into practice. So yes, they copied in that they went after Nintendos motion pot’o'gold.

@11 or they couldn’t release it then.hardware limitations,no true support from Sony.we can’t be sure. One thing is sure, they didn’t copy the idea of Move or we could say motion control overall from Nintendo and the Wii controller
Some people either have very selective memory or they’re just ignorant

Its funny because PS3 was the original ‘motion control’ system.. it just never took off because it was using g sensors as opposed to camera/IR tracking.
