Quick quotes: Sakurai calls creation of Smash Bros “a miracle”

Monday, 13th June 2011 10:51 GMT By Johnny Cullen

“I actually think it’s a miracle that we got Smash Bros. and all the Nintendo characters to work together in the first place. Especially when you bring Pokemon into the mix and a lot of the complications that are caused by that being an almost completely different entity on its own, it’s really something.” – Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai, speaking to IGN, about the creation of the series. A new Super Smash Bros, despite not even entering development yet, was announced at E3 last week for Wii U and 3DS.

I like the Smash Bros games but i really dont see where a new one will go, already Brawl felt more like an add-on then anything else. Nintendo just doesnt have the games to keep adding new characters to Smash Bros. I mean, whose going to be in the forth one? More Pokémon? Mario in some other outfit? Fucking Waluigi?!

The gameplay is tight and they are fun to play, but -like with pretty much every game Nintendo releases- its got ‘same old’ written all over it already.

Actually, the 3 smash bros games out now are quite different from each other. I’ve played all 3 to death, I like brawl’s gameplay the best, minus all that tripping and other super intentional nonsense. But there are plenty of characters left to put in there, if you don’t remember, some of the characters from melee didn’t make it to brawl.

And Waluigi would actually make a good fit, so long as his moves are unique, a Waluigi fan would be happy as hell he made the roster.
