Darksiders 2 already running on Wii U

Despite showing off PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 footage during the Nintendo press conference, THQ core games boss Danny Bilson says Darksiders 2 is already playable on the Wii U.

"We have Darksiders II completely running on the Wii U right now," the executive told Eurogamer.

"It took about five weeks. Coming into the show we were ready to go. We could have demonstrated it on the hardware but [Nintendo] decided not to have full games shown in the booth."

Bilson commented that the game is even now up and running on Wii U dev kits in the Vigil offices, and that the final product version will "absolutely" look as good as other console versions.

"The Darksiders team was one of the first teams to get dev kits," Bilson explained.

"We've had dedicated engineers on it working seven day weeks leading up to the show. ... We now have it running with the controller. So we could have shown it."

Bilson commented on Nintendo's reluctance to reveal the system's full specs, saying some of the details are still in a state of "flux".

"There are still some improvements to be made to some parts of it," he said.

THQ confirmed the Wii U release of Darksiders 2 on Tuesday.
