Levine discuses PS Move support for Bioshock: Infinite

Irrational Games' Ken Levine turned quite a few heads when he announced that the PS3 version of Bioshock Infinite will support PS Move, but how exactly does the studio plan to implement it?

Speaking to IGN, Levine said that he isn't actually sure yet.

"I tried to be as honest as I could up there. I don't exactly know what we're doing yet. I've worked with known film directors who basically were wanting to make a BioShock movie, and their experience with BioShock is watching their son play it.

"I'm not going to change my game. I'm not going to change the core experience. I almost view this as a port to another platform."

However, he was very clear that it won't be a core part of the gaming experience and players can choose not to use it at all, if they desire.

"If you don't care about [Move], don't worry about it. You don't have to touch that. You'll never even notice it's there. If you want to try it, it's there, great. My hope is that we'll succeed in the experiment and people will like it."

Finally, when he was asked if Irrational has any plans to consider implementing support for Microsoft's Kinect motion sensor aswell, Levine didn't give a straight answer but did admit he saw an opportunity to do so.

"The things that interested me most in the Microsoft press conference were things that enhance things that are cumbersome within the current structure. What I would never want to do is do something that requires more work or feels less organic or gimmicky.

"I'm not a fan of 'pick up the thing and shake it to do X, Y or Z.' Only if it's something that's less work or more expressive in some way. I think there's an opportunity [with BioShock Infinite]. I'm going to try and succeed at it."

Levine recently confirmed that the Bioshock game in development for PS Vita is an entirely new title and not a port of Bioshock: Infinite.
