AMD has announced that it’ll be providing the graphics processor for Wii U.
Wii U will be sporting a custom MD Radeon HD GPU which will offer â€śhigh-definition graphics support; rich multimedia acceleration and playback; and multiple display supportâ€ť.
Senior managing director of integrated research and revelopment at Nintendo Genyo Takeda said: “AMD will support our vision of innovating play through unique entertainment experiencesâ€ť.
â€śAMD shares Nintendoâ€™s excitement for the new HD entertainment experience planned for the Wii U console, addedâ€ťDavid Wang, corporate vice president of Silicon Engineering at AMD.
AMD didn’t reveal any specifics about the processor, though.
