Final Fantasy hits 100 million shipped worldwide

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy has now shipped 100 million units worldwide since the series' inception back in 1987. It follows the last main canon title, XIII, last March, with a sequel now confirmed for early 2012 in the west. Fellow titles Versus XIII and Type-0 are still on the way, but status updates on them haven't been provided at E3. The last Final Fantasy title full stop was fight em'up Dissidia 012 for PSP.
