Outland to hit US PSN June 14
US PlayStation 3 owners have just over a week to wait for Ubisoft’s colour-switching, bullet hell platformer, Outland.

In a post on the US PS Blog, developer Housemarque confirmed the Ubisoft-published downloadable game will arrive on the North American PlayStation Network on June 14.
An unusual, Ikaruga-like feature allows Outland’s protagonist to switch between two spirit forms with different abilities and resistances. The result is pretty gorgeous.
Outland released on the European PSN when the PS Store came back online last week. It’s also available on Xbox Live.
Thanks, Joystiq.

I bought it (EU PSN) a few days ago and it is absolutely brilliant !
For the old gamers amongst us, it is a very good mix between “Flashback”, “Shadow of the Beast” and a slice of “Ikaruga”.
So far, the best downloadable game I’ve bought

Completely agree with you there mate, it shocked the hell out of me how much better then game gets.
Plus co-op online via the story just adds to the fun. 10/10

@2 : I haven’t tried the co-op yet, but I’ll definitely give it a go next time I play.
Visuals are stunning and gameplay is solid

Cool. Been waiting for this (prefer PS controller/Dpad). Played the XBLA demo and was VERY impressed. Lot of people saying it’s sort of “Metroidvania” which sold me as well.
