Crytek’s Ryse announced, is first-person Kinect sword title
Crytek’s announced the title formerly known as Codename Kingdoms, which is now Ryse. It’s a first-person hack-and-slash using Kinect.
The game is entirely gesture-controlled, including kicking and stabbing, as well as shield-blocking.
The trailer showed a dog approaching dead bodies across the streets of Rome, as well as plenty of wreckage across the city. Watch it for yourself below courtesy of GameTrailers.
There was no date at the end.

Well I actually thought this was the highlight of the entire Microsoft press conf. Am I the only one feel underwhelmed by the event?

Actually I am not that suprissed because they develop Cryengine to be multiplatform and now to make some adventure genre exclusive on xbox just don’t look like smart option.IMO if they leave PC for consoles …. But again this kinect and maybe later would come on PS3 as move title.

Iam very interested in this game, and knowing that it is in very capable hands makes my wanted level go up with this game.

Someone at Crytek decided to rip off Rome (fantastic HBO TV show) in a big way, the water colour style intro is lifted right from the show not to mention the look of the city.
I suppose they at least had taste in who they were ripping off, dont expect much from a kinect game though.

That’s very nice indeed. It’s a bit like the gladiator game from that Move sports game.
After the quite incredible Crysis 2 I’m very much looking forward to seeing more.
