Brothers in Arms Furious 4 to release during first half of 2012
Ubisoft announced during its E3 press conference Brothers in Arms Furious 4 from Gearbox, which was hinted around at by Randy Pitchford last year.

Furious 4 is the latest latest iteration of the Brothers in Arms franchise, which promises to “spin the series in a new direction.”
Set in World War II, Brothers in Arms Furious 4 is a first-person shooter will a full campaign mode playable with up to four players in co-op, as well as in competitive multiplayer mode.
The story follows four “fierce and furious” men tracking the Führer, and as one of the Furious 4, players will use special weaponry and combat abilities to fight an experimental Nazi army conceived in secret by the Third Reich.
“The Brothers in Arms franchise has been renowned for its gritty direction that has dropped players into the middle of World War II,” said Adam Novickas, US director of marketing at Ubisoft. “With Brothers in Arms Furious 4, Gearbox brings the action to a whole new level filled with unexpected twists and over-the-top battles that are sure to please new players and fans alike.”
Brothers in Arms Furious 4 is slated for release during the first half of 2012 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

I’d love to see that video.
Mind providing your YouTube account details Steph?
*EDIT*
Found it elsewhere. What the hell have they done to the series?!
A restyled TF2 Heavy? Are you really that short of ideas?
The coolest thing about Brothers in Arms was that it actually tried to get a bit closer to the real WW2. Now it’s going to be WW2: Bad Company.
Why, Randy? Why?!

Absolutely dreadful.
DSB has it right. Why destroy a series that actually tried to do something different in order to replace it with an unfunny, uninteresting looking game which rips off every idea from a mediocre film and someone else’s video-game? And really, yet another game set in 1944 and featuring an experimental wing of the Third Reich?
The only way you could grab my interest was if you announced that you’d brought Charles Whiting back from the dead to write the script.

I don’t understand why they have tagged this with the Brothers in Arms name. Its nothing to do with the rest of the series, hell the start of the trailer is ripped directly from The Saboteur.
Fucking hell this was horrible.

In a press conference that included Frenchmen trying to be funny, a neverending stream of shovelware and the most annoying presenter of all time, this game was actually the lowest point. Well done Pitchford; between this and Duke Nukem Forever you’ve conclusively shown what a Neanderthal you are.

That is absolutely horrible. Not even because of this style, but because Gearbox have no respect for people who died at that war.
I mean, thats just not awesome…

I have relatives that were persecuted by the nazis, but I don’t have any problem with nazi exploitation movies, or games for that matter.
Where your imagination goes says nothing for how you actually feel in reality. People watch people slaughtering other people every day in TV and movies, it doesn’t mean they condone it once the TV is off.
If you were actually making the game during the war, or right when people were trying to recover, then yeah, that would be very exploitative.

I cant believe Gearbox would turn THE best WW2 authentic shooter into another meaningless, juvenile humour, obnoxious Duke in Arms type game. What the hell has happened to them lately? Sure Borderlands was a great game and a nice change of pace, but now its like that is ALL they can do. I remember when the gbox used to make meaningful games with heart and soul. Seems like they only do one emotion now, FUNFUCKINGTASTIC!
Sorry Gearbox you have lost a customer.

This is horrible. Not only did they copy and paste the same old classes and add some brutality (because its so cool these days, to add brutality and gore…). They ruined a very good IP, where I was hoping it would be THE tactical shooter to come out on consoles. Now that is the biggest letdown since Dantes dark hair.
