“Big” MGS: Rising news this winter, says Konami boss
Despite a previously-confirmed E3 no-show, Konami president Shinji Hirano has confirmed that “big” Metal Gear Solid: Rising news will emerge this winter.
Hirano, speaking to G4, didn’t get any more specific on a timeline, though.
“The reason why we didn’t mention information on Rising at this moment is because we are making something big, and that is coming for this winter season,” said Hirano.
“So please everybody expect to see some news for Rising this winter season.”
Earlier this week, Hideo Kojima confirmed during Konami’s pre-E3 press conference that news on Rising would be absent from E3 next week, but teased the game during the presser by showing small bits of concept art and render footage of Raiden.
Metal Gear Solid: Rising releases in 2012, as confirmed by Kojima on Thursday, on PS3, 360 and PC.

It may be a launch title for Sony’s NGP, too and the PS3 and NGP Versions will be TRANSFARRING enabled.^^

@3 Unless its going to be great as MGS4 ? Maybe they have problem because they need to develop for PC and Xbox too now…

@6, i’m not so sure that it’s going to be as great as MGS4. It’s a spinnoff that is not made by Hideo Kojima.
Also, i’m not so sure about PC… It’s kinda quiet.

Unless the “big” news will be that it’s coming out tomorrow, it won’t be really big news and will be, in fact, another mishap.

The more it takes, the better… Hope Kojima gets more inside of the project and ends up being proud of it…so we’ll automatically love it. Hope this finishes MGS saga too.

Perhaps it’s just me, but the Rising footage from last year looked better than the video of the Fox engine.

I hope they release a editors cut of MGS4. A version where someone has had the balls to take Hideo aside & say “we know you like a cutscene mate, but your a hack, we’re cutting them by 75%”.

Big Japanese Games always have their debut in TGS not E3 !! Besides I think sometimes developers change major stuff in their games during the course of development, maybe to cope with any competition

I THINK KOJIMA PLAN IS TO DOMINATE ALL PLATFORM, THUS INCREASING FAN BASE THUS MAKING A HUGE AMOUNT OF $$.
YES HE DOESN’T MIND DELAYING GAMES AS LONG AS HE CREATES A FULLY OPERATIONAL CROSS PLATFORM GAME DESIGN ENGINE !! VERY CLEVER OF HIM…NO WONDER WHY HE CREATED SNAKE UNLESS HE THINKS AND ACTS LIKE SNAKE

@18 TGS isn’t on winter though. Besides, since Rising is supposed to appeal to a broader western audience, it would make more sense to reveal info on a American/European event. The question now is if it will be VGAs, GDC 2012 or some sort of Konami event.
