@1: I think it has to do with the current stage in development. I mean, it’s at least going to look as good as UC2 in the end.

Terrible art direction and the color grade is awful. What game are you, and what did you do to Uncharted?

Uncharted 2 looked so impressive, now it’s just BLOCKS everywhere with crappy grass.

@Erthazus: Don’t think you can blame the 3D. The problem is very much in the art-direction and scene lighting, not on a technical level. Big artist fail on this one. The environment they are in doesn’t help either. The Himalayas is way better than this old fort.

@8, i’m not only speaking about this one, the French chateau also is stripped to death with low poly textures compared to Uncharted 2.

If you remember, Uncharted 2 had impressive furniture and etc. Here it’s just everything is bland.

@13 It is a released trailer. Things released as trailers are expected to be a good representation of the whole game, otherwise they mark it as “pre-alpha build” or something like that. This is an E3-co-op trailer, not some leaked video.

However, while this looks really bad that does not make it certain the whole game is like this. It will probably be very impressive.

I think this looks about the same as UC2.

REMEMBER EVERYONE, IF THE GRAPHICS IMPACT THE AMOUNT OF ENJOYMENT YOU GET OUT OF A GAME, MAYBE IT’S TIME TO FIND A NEW HOBBY.

@16 Of course graphics impact the amount of enjoyment, otherwise all games would be just white boxes with no textures. Graphics create atmosphere. However, you can enjoy a game with crappy graphics, but not a game with good graphics and the rest is crap. But the best is ofcourse if everything is good.

Games should always be viewed as a WHOLE, not separated into “visuals, gameplay and story”. Everything is important, and in this case the actual playing looks ok, but the visuals does not meet the expectations. A blockbuster title needs both.

Like I said previously, this is GOW3 all over again. After SMS released the first gameplay trailer, a lot of people were bitching about the “crappy” graphics although the release date was several months away. Yes, I know UC3′s release isn’t that far away but this isn’t even a trailer and it’s obvious the game will look much better.
All I’m saying is complaining now is pretty much worthless and, to be honest, annoying. If the final version looks bad then yeah, feel free to complain.

I wouldnt base much off this video, seeing as we’ve got other clips which look much better, so obviously its a bit dumb to say the game looks bad because of this video and ignore the rest of the footage. I’d say it’s mainly down to that level having very flat lighting and the YouTube video being of iffy quality. I dont think we’ve seen such a dark level in an UC game yet.

Honestly, I don’t even see anything wrong with the graphics. And did anyone else noticed how Drakes body reacted when he jumped over that ledge at 1:12? Amazing stuff.

Graphics aside, the co-op was the best part of Among Thieves online experience; I’m stoked that ND are expanding it for the sequel
