Hawken developer diaries dig into design goals

Gigantic lumbering bipedal mechs. Sweet real-time damage that turns them to wrecks. Pro looking gameplay sans publisher strings.

These are a few of Hawken's favourite things.

A pair of walkthrough trailers post to GameTrailers have outlined some of Adhesive's goals with indie mech multiplayer shooter, Hawken.

Aiming for a mix of fun and realism, Adhesive described the gameplay as lying "somewhere between Halo and MechWarrior". There's a lot of interesting little touches, like strict overheating limits and a deliberate step away from regenerating health with a triggered repair mode.

Hawken is expected to release digitally on major platforms, although precise release details and dating are still to be confirmed.
