Uncharted 3 confirmed for Japan

Wednesday, 1st June 2011 04:39 GMT By Brenna Hillier

The announcement of a Japanese release of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has deflated speculation over a countdown teaser site.

Siliconera reports Sony Japan has announced the title will feature full Japanese voice acting and rejoice in the subtitle of Atlantis Sleeps in the Desert.

Andriasang‘s Famitsu leaks suggest the game will be given a local airing in tomorrow’s issue, too.

Sony Japan’s teaser site is still counting down, but is probably tied to a local media blitz.

A Japanese release isn’t news in itself – both previous instalments of the flagship PlayStation 3 series have seen local release – but it does thoroughly dampen hopes for an unannounced surprise. Pooh.

Uncharted 3 is due on PS3 in November.

I had a dream the other night that Uncharted 3 involved the blue people at the end of Uncharted 2 (uh, spoilers). Drake was working with them.

I woke up in cold sweats, crying.

Given that generally Western titles are poorly supported for release in Japan and South East Asia this is excellent news indicating a timely launch.
