Serious Sam 3 reveal trailer is totally mental
The reveal trailer for Serious Sam 3 has been posted by IGN, and it’s vintage Serious Sam stuff, showing you ripping through hordes of mutants.

The trailer tries to be dramatic at the start, declaring that you’re the last hope of humanity before quickly moving over to all guns blazing action scenes. There are huge monsters, lots of blood and even more cool weapons to kill them with. Fun.
The game will be out this summer on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
Watch it below.

Its Seroius Sam tho. Gore, Fast Arcade Style shooting across big plains and punchy one-liners is why the series exists.

Wait, WTF is he holding!? What happened to his weapons? What has Modern Warfare done!?
Hope the gameplay is at least more Sam and less MW.

I never liked the SS games, but this looks very cool. Much improved over the “arcade” style/look of the last games.

Only thing I didn’t like is weapons have 0 recoil and 0 weapon movement when firing like weapons are not moving at all if you understand what I want to say.

Hehe, you guys do realize that M4′s weren’t actually invented by Infinity Ward, right? It was in two of their games.
With this many people getting a hardon from just seeing a gun that’s been used in Modern Warfare, how can you fail?

IGN: Was there any discussion about adding shooter mechanics like a cover system or regenerative health to the game, or would that be blasphemous?
Roman Ribaric: Cover system??? Regenerating health??? You can’t be Serious!

IGN: It does look like aim down the sights made it in.
Roman Ribaric: Yes, aiming works really well – for those weapons where we put it in. We wanted to give more power and at the same time more precision at distance to some weapons, yet didn’t want to ruin their balance in relation to other weapons. This really worked very well. It is not something completely new for the series, though. You probably recall Serious Sam: The Second Encounter’s Sniper Rifle which even had adjustable zoom factor.

IGN: What does using the Serious Engine 3 allow for in this game?
Roman Ribaric: Serious Engine was continually improved over the years, with the first debut of the 3.0 version in the HD encounters, and now boosted even further to Serious Engine 3.5 (which is what Serious Sam 3: BFE uses). Improvements are numerous. The upgraded engine allows us to create levels that are as huge as those in the previous games, but at the same time much more detailed. New AI and navigation code makes enemies able to get around more complex environments, and interact with the environment much better. The new rendering system allows us to get much closer to visual goals of the original SS:TFE – to show gory fights with scary monsters in beautifully realistically rendered environments.
Quote:
IGN: Release date and platforms?
Roman Ribaric: Summer 2011 for PC with other platforms following after that.
We are a small team and we do all the platforms ourselves. We figured out that handling all those complicated mumbo-jumbos of console development is really just an unreasonable way to add more delay to a game release. So we decided to concentrate on shipping a good game for the PC first, then catch up with the consoles afterwards. Not to say we put consoles completely aside. Xbox 360 versions of Serious Sam 3, e.g., are automatically built every day. But the bulk of the work involved with pushing it through the bureaucracy needed to actually ship it might add months to the release date. And the players are waiting…

Why do they have down the sights view? This annoyed me in Bulletstorm too, games about running around being mental don’t need aiming down the sights. They need running and being mental.
