FFXIII gets budget re-release in Japan this July

Square Enix has announced its to re-release Final Fantasy XIII as a budget release in Japan for both PS3 and 360. The PS3 version will come under Square’s Ultimate hits line, while the 360 SKU will be part of Microsoft’s Platinum Hits collection, as the game is already in the Square line-up from its original release in the country last December.

Both PS3 and 360 will launch for ¥3,990 on July 21. Thanks, Andriasang.

Bethesda: Brink PS3 unaffected by PSN blackout

Bethesda’s confirmed that it’ll still release the PS3 version of multiplayer-focused shooter Brink this Friday in the UK despite the ongoing crisis surrounding PSN. A rep for the publisher told EG: “We’re still going ahead with launch this week.” Bethesda US has told GiantBomb it’s also going ahead with its launch tomorrow. And there you have it.

Diablo III beta details expected in tonight’s Acti call

Quick note: Activision is expected to reveal details of the Diablo III beta tonight, when the company delivers calendar 2011 Q1 financials. Blizzard boss Mike Morhaime promised he’d shed light on the test in the firm’s last investor chat in February. Diablo III has no release date as yet, but it’s hoped it’ll ship this year. There’s more on Blizzplanet. The call starts at 9.30pm BST.

Brink gets launch trailer, shoot fans hold breath

Bethesda’s put out what promises to be the final Brink trailer before the Splash Damage shooter releases in the US tomorrow. Europeans will get the game on Friday. The near-future team-based game has been delayed by a year, but there’s no doubting a debut on PC, PS3 and 360 this week. Check out Johnny’s just-published chat with studio head Paul Wedgwood here.
