Ex-Black Rock staff form Roundcube Entertainment

Two ex-Black Rock staffers have founded a new studio, Roundcube Entertainment, in the wake of dramatic lay-offs at the Disney-owned developer.

GamesIndustry reports Nick Baynes and Ian Monaghan will serve as the new studio’s head and development director respectively.

The newly-formed company is yet to announce any projects.

Only around 30 staff remain at Block Rock, which is based in Brighton, after an estimated 100 lay-offs. Its games include Split/Second and Pure.

Black Rock suffered severe job cuts as part of Disney’s ongoing restructuring, as it transitions into digital publishing. The publisher’s first title from this initiative is Disney Universe.

Thanks, Eurogamer.

the job cut was terrible man, and those guys brought great games.

Hope this new team make great games and not make indie types of games:/

I typed “roundhead” in the headline, but not the body. Still not sure why.
