Sega to publish Aliens Infestation

A new game based on the Aliens franchise is on the way, according to an Australian Classification Board listing.

A NeoGAF user spotted the listing, which gives the titles as Aliens Infestation.

It’s a cross-platform game with “science fiction violence”, apparently.

Published by Sega, which holds the license, the game is in development at Way Forward Technologies, the team which made Contra 4 and A Boy & His Blob.

No word from either party as yet, but we’re betting on a side-scrolling downloadable title.

As Eurogamer points out, there are at least two other Aliens games in the works – Gearbox’s long-dormant Aliens: Colonial Marines and a new title from The Creative Assembly.

I’d kill for a reboot of Aliens Online that Kesima had for the PC a few years back. Marines droped into hives in fireteams of four, I think three or four fireteams per match. Marines had different classes/skills/weapons … and other players controled the aliens. Could be huggers, drones, and even queen.

Was one of my all time fav Online MP experiences.

I’d buy a game like that in a flash.

If this game is been made by the same developer who did made A boy and His blob, you dont need to say more about the game it will be good, A boy and His blob was an excelent game, i did played on wii, and its a shame that didnt received all the recognition it does really deserve.

I’m just hoping that one of these will allow for playable aliens. I always appreciated the strange mechanics of the xenomorphs and I absolutely loved the hell out of playing them in the original Aliens vs Predator. The 2000 one, not the crap one.

Still, if these all turn out to be just marines only, there’s always Natural Selection 2 for me to love the hell out of instead. I enjoy me a bit of lerk.

Not to be confused with Blerk! But he’s okay too.
